Ian Marriott, also known as Magic Ian, is a professional magician and children’s entertainer based near Romsey, Hampshire and covering the neighbouring counties of Wiltshire, Dorset, Berkshire, Surrey and West Sussex.
Ian entertains children of all ages from three upwards. Children’s parties are a speciality but Ian’s versatility in entertaining adults as well as children either with his cabaret act or amazing close up magic, makes him the ideal choice for weddings and other events where both adults and children will be present.
For children’s parties Ian offers a choice of an action packed 45 minute magic show or his two hour deluxe party package (including the break for food) with plate spinning, games and music as well as the magic show.
The magic show is always tailored to the age group concerned, and with a lot of audience participation, (sometimes the children even do the magic) fun and laughter are guaranteed. For birthday parties, the birthday child can be the star of the show, magically producing from an empty box at the end of the show a birthday card and present (supplied by Ian.) If the party is in a hall Ian brings an attractive backdrop which looks good if photos are to be taken during the show.
The deluxe package starts with plate spinning as the children arrive. This is always fun and even the youngest enjoy having a go (with help) and some of the older children manage to do it properly with a bit if tuition. This is followed by the games which are largely of a team nature which ensures that nobody is left sitting out. A novelty version of pass the parcel is included and this part of the party concludes with something to music such as the Hokey Kokey. After tea the magic show brings the party to a happy ending.
Ian has a CRB certificate and as a member of Equity has a good level of public liability insurance.
